Avenged Sevenfold To Headline Friday at Download 2014; Rob Zombie To Sub-headline

It's the(series of) rock and metal festival announcement the UK has been waiting for for months and now the news is slowly starting to filter through to us. The wheels are in motion at Download Festival HQ as Maverick himself aka Andy Copping, Download Festival director has unleashed the first headliner for the 2014 event, as well another extremely interesting act.
Headlining the Friday night of the 2014 Download Festival, in it's usual home at Donington Park will be Orange County metallers Avenged Sevenfold. Long expected to be promoted to headliner status after scoring a UK album chart number one record with Hail To The King, M Shadows, Synester Gates and friends will be headlining the main stage at Download 2014 on the Friday night. Avenged will first be in the UK at the beginning of next month for a series of arena shows including a sold out appearance at Wembley Arena with very special guests Five Finger Death Punch. Having also been announced to headline Soundwave Festival 2014 in Australia next February, 2014 will be a huge landmark year in the lives of the band known as "A7X".
Appearing directly before Avenged Sevenfold will be the master of horror Rob Zombie. Having alternated between his music and his second career as a horror film director over the last few years, The Lord of The Underworld is returning to the Download Festival for his biggest UK appearance ever. With his band including well known musicians such as John 5 on guitar and (some of the time) Slipknot's Joey Jordison behind the drumkit, as well as one of the most spectacular stage shows in metal, arguably only Rammstein can compete with Rob Zombie for sheer stage show entertainment value.
Early bird discounted tickets for Download Festival 2014 are available until Friday 8th of November 2013 through the official festival website. The early bird tickets have £10 knocked off of last years ticket prices and provide a good opportunity to save some money to help pay for festival food, booze, or dare we say even Christmas presents! If you want to pick one (or more) up - head over to http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/.
The second Download Festival headliners (and sub-headliners) will be announced tomorrow morning at 8am so please return to ScribesOfMetal tomorrow morning to see who'll be joining Avenged Sevenfold and Rob Zombie at Donington next year. The final headliner and sub-headliner will be revealed on Wednesday.
