Bloodstock Festival 2014 Announces Lacuna Coil, Primordial and Carcass Added To Line Up

The bands just keep coming for all the UK metal festivals. After the announcement from Download earlier in the week and the news of new festival Redshift, The UK's favourite "proper" metal festival Bloodstock Open Air has announced another three bands have been added to it's line up for next year.

First of the three bands is Italy's biggest metal export Lacuna Coil. Having headlined on their previous appearance at Bloodstock in 2007, the goth flavoured metal six piece will be returning to Bloodstock in 2014 with a new album and a selection of hits such as Heaven's A Lie and Spellbound. Their frontwoman Christina Scabbia had this to say:

“To be back at Bloodstock will be such a BLAST! I can't wait to see my family of Coilers in the UK again and to meet new friends. I promise pure damn adrenaline from our stage!! See ya there!”

Aiming at the heavier end of the metal spectrum, the second band in this Bloodstock announcement are the recently re-activated British metal veterans Carcass. With their album Surgical Steel released to critical acclaim and having put in a superb turn at Defenders Of The Faith IV, Carcass will be one of the most eagerly awaited bands of BOA 2014. Their singer and bassist Jeff Walker had this to say about returning to Bloodstock:

“Unfinished business… Carcass will return to Bloodstock 2014.  With new blood, new album, new songs, we'll be firing on all cylinders.  If you think you've already seen this band, think again.  We'll see you come what may in the mud and the rain, there to knock the air out of your inflatable swords and knock the wind out of your sails.  Let there be rot!”

Lastly, the Irish pagan metal offerings of Primordial will be on hand to make their second Bloodstock Festival appearance. Having last played on the 2011 event, Primordial will be unleashing tracks from their critically acclaimed album Redemption At The Puritans Hand, as well as material from other albums and maybe even some new songs.

These three bands join Saxon, Decapitated, Children Of Bodom, Amon Amarth, Obituary, Flotsam & Jetsam, Prong, Hatebreed, Crowbar, Evil Scarecrow and headliners Down, Emperor and Megadeth as announced acts for Bloodstock Open Air 2014. A limited number of early bird tickets can be acquired from Further announcements will be made by the organisers in subsequent weeks and months and we'll bring them to you as and when they are made.
