Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2015 Add Black Label Society, Godflesh & Many More

It's been a little while since Scribes provided an update on the goings on at Bloodstock Open Air HQ at Catton Hall. While we've been a bit tardy with the updates, the Bloodstock team have been busy adding many more quality bands to an already impressive line up.

With Sunday night at BOA 2015 being headlined by the legendary Rob Zombie, some big shoes were needed to fill the special guest slot. Thankfully for all festival goers to this years' Bloodstock, the spot has been filled by the considerable skills of Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society! Their last album scored a direct hit into the upper reaches of the UK album chart and BLS are set to make their biggest UK festival appearance yet. Here's Zakk Wylde himself:

“We’re looking forward to seeing the mighty UK Chapter of the all-mighty Black Label when we get rolling at the Bloodstock festival in August!”

Joining Black Label Society on the Ronnie James Dio stage at this years' event will be grindcore originators Napalm Death. With their latest offering Apex Predator acknowledged as one of their finest albums thus far, few would bet against Napalm Death unleashing hell on the fields of Derbyshire. Last but not least, Swedish metal outfit Wolf will be jetting in for a main stage appearance - in some very esteemed company from what we've seen so far. But that's not all....

Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2015 sees a very unique and revered act take to the Sophie Lancaster stage to give it it's annual send off on Sunday night. Industrial / noise metal pioneers Godflesh, featuring the legendary Justin Broadrick will be closing the Sophie Stage as they make their Bloodstock début this August. Justin can't wait to bring Godflesh to BOA this Summer:

"Godflesh is thrilled to be playing a very metal UK festival!  We don’t get asked to play many, as we’re often viewed as not ‘real’ metal enough, or we’re generally seen as outsiders, which we are, thank you.  That doesn’t mean we don’t like to be invited to be a real metal band once in a while and especially in the Derbyshire countryside!  Thank you Bloodstock!"

Godflesh will be joined on Sunday night on the Sophie Stage by British thrashers Onslaught, who are celebrating a mighty three decades since their début album was released in 1985. You can check out various anniversary happenings for the album, including special merch releases, at the official website www.powerfromhell.com.

Three more bands will also be showcasing their sound on the Sophie Stage across the weekend; Doom metal your thing? Then check out London outfit Bast, who have landed a spot on the Bloodstock 2015 line up through extensive touring of their début album of last year. Then we have sludge rock flavoured by the Mediterranean courtesy of Greek rockers Planet Of Zeus, as well as the self monikered "caveman battle doom" outfit Conan. Any band named after an Arnie film have to be worth checking out, surely?

If you are (somehow) still not sold on Bloodstock Open Air 2015, then the festival team have put together an extremely slick new trailer. It's included for your viewing pleasure below:

Nik works in music PR, he wanted to be famous but genetics determined a managerial route instead. He put his energy into working out how to design stuff, build web stuff and string a decent series of words together. He is a big fan of original and unique sounding bands, loving a good melody and anthem - although he has been known to listen to 90s glam rock in private.
