As new festivals add themselves to the UK festival scene, which is already pretty crowded, in order to stand out from the masses they need to make a statement of intent. The inaugural Temples Festival have really done that and then some with their sterling line up thus far, topped off with headliners in the shape of the fantastic Electric Wizard and noise/ambient metal gods Neurosis.
To complete the trio of headliners for the first Temples Festival the organisers have acquired the services of another critically acclaimed much love band who can bring something a bit different to much of the rest of the line up without diminishing the quality levels. That band are the masters of groove metal Clutch! Their most recent album Earth Rocker was heralded as one of the top albums of 2013 and one of the very best of their career by many, and their Summer UK tour this past July went down a storm with sold out shows and hugely entertained crowds. Now Clutch will bring their groove laden riffs to Motion in Bristol for the Temples Festival.
In addition to Electric Wizard, Neurosis and Clutch, Temples Festival boasts the talents of bands such as UK death metal masters Anaal Nathrakh, their compatriots & death metal purveyors Dragged Into Sunlight and Winterfylleth as well Neurosis post metal contemporaries A Storm of Light, sludge metal collective Amenra and many, many more. Temples Festival 2014 will take place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May 2014. Another ten bands will be announced for the festival on Friday (6th December) along with further ticket information and maybe some day splits into the bargain as well! Stay tuned for further details.
