Crowbar & Children Of Bodom Head New Additions To Bloodstock Festival Line Up For 2014

With a line up already boasting three fantastic headliners in New Orleans' stoner metal maestros Down, black metal legends Emperor and one quarter of the Big Four in Megadeth, the team at Bloodstock Open Air 2014 have further strengthened the line up with a quartet of very interesting bands.

First up are Down's fellow New Orlean's residents, doom / sludge metallers Crowbar. With Crowbar's Kirk Windstein ending his involvement in Down not too long ago to concentrate 100% on Crowbar, Kirk will cross paths with his old buddies at Catton Hall next August as part of Bloodstock Festival 2014. Mr Windstein is no stranger to BOA, as one might tell from these comments:

Crowbar can’t wait to bring our NOLA doom back to Bloodstock in 2014! It’s our 25th anniversary, so expect a few surprises in our set. New record, new bassist and a whole new Crowbar attitude!!! Get ready for the heavy!!!”

Fellow Bloodstock alumni, Finnish shredders Children Of Bodom are also making their return to Catton Hall in 2014. What's more, Bloodstock will be the only place to see Alexi Laiho and friends in the UK in 2014 as their performance at BOA is a UK exclusive for next year. Having just been in the UK last month for a successful tour with Insomnium and Napalm Death, Bloodstock will see them return once again to lay waste with their new album Halo of Blood and a selection of classic tracks.

Also appearing at next year's Bloodstock Festival are American death metal veterans Obituary. Obituary are currently in the studio working on their first new album for several years, so fans of theirs can expect new songs to do battle to when they take to the BOA 2014 stage. Obituary had this to say about performing at Bloodstock next year:

“We are very excited to be a part of Bloodstock 2014. It’s been 4 years since OBITUARY played the festival and we are looking forward to returning. We’ve been hard at work in the studio and can’t wait to bring our new album to UK fans and perform some new songs along with all the old classics. Bloodstock is the UK’s true metal fest, so we are honoured to be invited and to bring some Florida Death Metal to our British fans! Hang on to your ass, this is gonna be fun!!”

Rounding off the new quartet of bands are the UK's own Evil Scarecrow. Regular performers at Bloodstock over the years, Evil Scarecrow will be appearing on the main stage for the first time in 2014. You might say they're quite excited about that fact:

”We are astounded, a little scared, but beyond delighted to have been invited back to Bloodstock, especially as we are returning to the Main Stage which guarantees nobody suffers the discomfort of a full tent! Bloodstock is the biggest and best UK heavy metal festival and we’re truly honoured to be playing the same stage as so many bands who have influenced and inspired us. The line up this year already looks phenomenal. We promise to up the Scarecrow game to give Bloodstock’s faithful the best in Evil entertainment! Bring on the METAL!”

BOA 2014 early bird tickets are currently available on a limited basis from Seetickets at the following URL - http://bloodstock.seetickets.com/. The early bird tickets are priced at £115. When they're gone, they're gone, and the price will go up. Dozens more bands will be added to the event in the weeks to come and they will all be announced here at Scribes Of Metal.
