Download Festival 2016's Friday Night Headliner Is Rammstein!

Well, all the news is out there now. Download 2016 doesn't have any "new" headliners, but they've secured the return of the band who arguably gave the festival it's best ever headline performance. Back in 2013, Rammstein wowed the masses at Donington, with the organisers finally landing them after years of trying. It was worth the wait as the performance was absolutely spectacular, and now, three years later, they're set to do it all again.

Only this time around, Rammstein are the festival's first headliners, not the last, as they'll headline the Friday of Download 2016. As much as we love both other Download headliners - Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, we almost feel sorry for them, because trying to follow Rammstein is one unenviable task! Black Sabbath can be found headlining the Saturday night, whilst Iron Maiden will close the festival on the Sunday. All three headliners are being advertised as UK exclusive shows for 2016 - so quite what that means for a UK leg of Sabbath's farewell "The End" tour is anyone's guess - Donington may well bring down the curtain on Black Sabbath as a live band in the UK after all.

Tickets for Download 2016 are currently on sale from the official festival website We've been reliably informed through the grapevine (and via Download booker Andy Copping himself on social media) that more bands are set to be added to Download 2016's lineup imminently - so we suggest you keep an eye on us next week for the next batch of bands to join Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden!
