Download Festival 2016's Saturday Night Headliner Is Black Sabbath!

Last night brought us Iron Maiden. Tonight brings us Black Sabbath. The forefathers of heavy metal have been confirmed as the headline act for Download Festival 2016's Saturday night, confirming something that has been speculated on by fans and media for weeks. Black Sabbath will be embarking on their final tour as a band in 2016, so it was almost inevitable that they would headline Download next year and so it has come to pass.

The one and only frontman of Black Sabbath, Mr Ozzy Osbourne, kept it short and sweet when discussing tonight's news:

“Download is my absolute favourite summer festival.  It’s always like coming home. See you all there!”

The Download festival team have also announced that the final headliner for the 2016 edition of the festival will be revealed tomorrow (Wednesday 21st of October), not at 7pm as with Iron Maiden and Sabbath but at 8am so that'll be worth getting up early for.

Tickets for Download 2016 will be on sale on Friday 23rd of October at 9am from Please return tomorrow to discover the final headliner for next years' festival.
