In what is probably the most shocking rock or metal news of the entire year, Lostprophets enigmatic frontman Ian Watkins has been arrested and charged with three counts of sex offences related to minors. The first charge relates to "conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a girl of under 13" along with two charges of possessing indecent images of children. Two females, aged 20 and 24 have also been arrested along with the Lostprophets' singer in conjunction with this investigation.
Watkins, 35, and the rest of Lostprophets only finished their most recent UK tour a few weeks ago which included the headline slot at the first Vans Warped Tour festival show in the UK for thirteen years.
UPDATE - More details, courtesty of the BBC have come to light about the case. Watkins has been ALSO been charged with "Conspiracy to rape a one year old girl" and the offences related to possession and distribution of images of children are now four charges, rather than two. The originally reported charge of "conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a girl of under 13" remains.
