Amazing festival news for the UK was announced this evening on BBC Radio One. During the Rock Show with Dan Carter, it was confirmed that the first headliner for the 2016 edition of Bloodstock, which takes place every August at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, is going to be none other than Mastodon!
The Atlanta progressive metal quartet have been much loved in the UK for over a decade, and have won critical acclaim from virtually the entire UK music press, to the point that they were invited to appear on none other than Jools Holland - the only metal band other than Metallica to hold that honour.
Mastodon will be headlining Bloodstock 2016 on the Saturday night. Already confirmed for next years' event are UK metal legends Venom, and Polish lords of extreme Behemoth, who occupy the special guest slot on Friday night performing their epic album The Satanist in it's entirely.
