After a twelve year career full of metal goodness, UK power metal group Power Quest have announced they will be calling it a day this summer.
One of the true UK metal undergrounds favourite bands down the years, Power Quest are not slinking away into the night quietly. They will be going out in style by performing their final show at Bloodstock Open Air 2013, having been invited to play the Sophie Lancaster Stage.
Keyboard player Steve Williams is very much looking forward to it, as readers can see for themselves below:
“I’m really thrilled that we will be taking to the stage for the last time at BOA in 2013. There’s a certain symmetry about it as we played Bloodstock Indoor in 2003 as part of our very first tour. Really looking forward to rounding off 12 years with a bang and also with some very special guests joining us from down the years! See you there!”
For those who won't be able to make the trip to Catton Hall for Bloodstock in August, there is another opportunity for one last dose of Power Quest in the flesh before then. After listening to requests from the fans, the band have scheduled a show at The Camden Underworld in London for the 31st of May, with support from Dendera. The show will be a two hour celebration of all the band's material.
If there are any further updates (including any more shows on the Power Quest farewell tour) fans will be able to read about them here. Power Quest's most recent album Blood Alliance is out now on Napalm Records.
