Slipknot Confirmed to join Iron Maiden & Rammstein Headlining Download Festival 2013

They are arguably the heaviest band ever to truly breakthrough into the mainstream, certainly within the last fifteen years. They have suffered huge triumphs and one very notable tradegy, and the latest chapter in the Slipknot story sees the Iowan metal titans return to the scene of their greatest success. Their headline set at Download 2009 is the stuff of festival legend, and four years later they are returning to headline the opening night of the Download Festival 2013.

Yes, that's right, they're headlining the opening night. Which means those who successfully survive the circle pits full of rabbid maggots still have another two days, and Iron Maiden and Rammstein to look forward to. A definite contender for the most "metal" set of headliners at a UK festival ever, reaction to the announcement has, understandibly been largely overwhelmingly positive. Quite frankly, it is our opinion that if you're not satisfied with the Download headliners of this year and next, you never will be.

When can we get our tickets you say? Those of you with a Vodafone mobile phone can get them already through the Vodafone VIP service on pre-sale. For everyone else, Tickets go on sale at 9am Friday September 28th on the Download website and anywhere else you might tend to buy concert or festival tickets on the Internet.

Here Comes The Pain Indeed. We Can't Wait. See you at Donington in 2013.
