Sonisphere UK Announces 40th Anniversary Celebrations

As part of the 40 anniversary of Knebworth House, Sonisphere has announced numerous celebration events in the build up to the 2014 UK edition of the festival – Classic Album Sundays, Knebworth Exhibition, as well as a Knebworth Tribute event. Celebration events will take place both before and during Sonisphere Festival 2014. Read on to find out more!

Classic Album Sundays

Before the festival, ‘Classic Album Sundays’ are happening monthly in cities across the world. The events aim to allow listeners to truly lose themselves in the music and reignite appreciation for the traditional album sound and feel from start to finish in contrast to the modern day individual singles and shuffle approach. Enhancing the experience and enabling the listener to hear intricate details is the all analogue Audio Note hi-fi, one of the world's best audiophile sound systems.

A series of ‘Classic Album Sundays’ will also take place at the festival itself between 10AM and 4PM on both the Saturday and Sunday. This will enable festival goers to enjoy classic albums from this years’ headliners, as well as other legendary albums from Knebworth’s rich 40 year history. Titles are set to include Iron Maiden “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son”, Pink Floyd “The Dark Side of the Moon”, Prodigy “Fat of the Land”, Metallica “Metallica (The Black Album)”, with more to be announced, with an introduction to each by a suitably passionate expert before the playback.

If this sounds up your street, be sure to keep an eye out at the festival information tent where you can sign up to these unique events during the course of the festival. Check out www.classicalbumsundays.com for further information on the events happening.

Knebworth Exhibition

To commemorate 40 years of live music at Knebworth House a special exhibition of rare and exclusive rock memorabilia from the venue’s history will be showcased from the 8th July to the 31st August 2014 as part of Knebworth House open days (between 12PM and 4PM) costing £12 (Adults) and £11.50 (Seniors and Children). With a rich musical history from 1978 to the present day encompassing Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, 10cc, Frank Zappa, Lynrd Skynyrd, Devo, Genesis and many others, the exhibition is set to be a must for rock fans and music aficionados.
