Rising talent The Bastard Sons who played last week at Camden Rocks, are preparing to release their debut album 'Smoke' on the 7th August via Kaiju Records.
To get us in the mood for the album, the band have released a lyric video to accompany their single 'A Lie Is A Lie'. The video features footage of the widespread UK rioting and general anti-systemic protests (and resulting chaos) that many countries experienced. Take a look at the lyric video right here:
Speaking of the video frontman (JJ) Jackson says:
This song is about not accepting truths just because you heard them on the news or read them in a paper, standing up for what you believe and, if needs be, kicking the man in the teeth and saying I won't take your bullshit anymore.
He continues about the album;
I always said with previous releases that I would never open up too much and write lyrics that meant too much to me personally, but with ‘Smoke’ things have changed. I just had to get out my inner frustrations with all the inaccurate crap we are fed through the media; it’s leading us towards negativity instead of pushing humanity forward to a more balanced, harmonious breed.
The boys are still in the process of confirming some UK dates, but the definite ones so far are:
26/6 - The Cask, Scarborough
27/6 - Santiago's, Leeds
14/8 - The Angel, Durham
15/8 - Fibbers, York
Keep your eyes peeled for more dates to follow, and in the meantime, check out that new lyric video!
