With only a couple of days to go until the gates open - the Download organisers have thrown up another surprise (or should that be two?) in the shape of two brand new high profile bands to join the line up at Download 2015.
The eagle eyed of fans amongst you may have noticed a couple of gaps in the schedule (especially when using a clashfinder like the following one - http://clashfinder.com/s/downloadfest2015/). Well those have now been filled by The Organisers in spectacular style. Sunday afternoon in The Maverick Stage (formerly the Pepsi Max Tent) at 3pm will see Lowestoft's finest aka The Darkness take to the stage, filling the slot that was occupied by Black Stone Cherry last year. With their new album Last Of Our Kind released to rave reviews, Download is the perfect place to give some of the songs their first big live airing (plus we're sure there will be a classic or two thrown in for good measure).
In the even more intimate confines of Jake's Stage (formerly the Red Bull Studios stage) The Darkness's fellow Brit rockers Young Guns will be putting in an appearance at 9:30pm (as if there wasnt enough choice on Friday night already). Expect tracks from their new album Ones and Zeros plus some of the old favourites like Bones and Brothers In Arms.
The organisers have also teased even more secret bands - whether that's true, we'll all have to wait and see!
Scribes Of Metal will be launching it's Download Festival 2015 preview later today so check back for that. In the meantime, head over to www.downloadfestival.co.uk for all the latest information and to purchase tickets if you haven't already snapped some up!
