The powers that be at the Download Festival have spoken once again, and given unto the Donington going rock and metal masses another three dozen bands to look forward to of all shapes (Shvpes?) and sizes. First announced on the Radio One Rock Show with Mr Dan P Carter on Sunday evening, we have the news of thirty six new bands to play Download 2016 this Summer.
Two of the three second stage headliners have been revealed; Punk legends NOFX will handle duties on the Saturday whilst alt rock icons Jane's Addiction will close the Zippo Encore stage on the Sunday night. Main stage additions include Alien Ant Farm (who entertained our own Dan King very recently - check out that review right now), Monster Truck and the mighty Amon Amarth! Other notable additions include Top 40 chart achievers Bury Tomorrow, NewGrave stars Ashestoangels, Scandanavian retro rockers Graveyard and thrash favourites Municipal Waste. Here's the full breakdown of new bands for Download 2016:

Speaking of the main stage, for 2016 it will be known simply as "The Lemmy Stage", in a fitting tribute to the rock and metal world's much missed Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead. The band and their team are in discussions with the Download organisers as to a suitable tribute to be paid to Lemmy during Motorhead's set, that was due to take place on the main stage Friday before KoRn and headliners Rammstein - more details on that when we have it.
Tickets for Download 2016 are available at 2015 prices if you purchase your ticket before Thursday 11th of Feb from the official website www.downloadfestival.co.uk. Stay tuned for more news about the UK's biggest rock and metal festival.
