Pentimento - Wrecked E.P Byte Size Review

Band Name:
Release Date:
Releasing Label:

Fans of post rock and post punk from both sides of the Atlantic and beyond may find much to like with Pentimento's (debut?) release Wrecked. The Buffalo New York quartet know how to structure a song well and on record sound like a very tight knit unit.

The opening track to this six song E.P The Rules of Attraction bring strong reminders of Funeral For A Friend at their best down the years, whilst closing track isn't it obvious evokes memories of some of Boysetsfire's less visceral tracks. Pentimento's Wrecked E.P isn't a genre defining release but the US youngsters clearly know what they're good at and do it very well. This E.P has been out for a good number of months but it seemingly now only hitting the UK, and Pentimento are a band to keep an eye on for the future for sure.
