Here at Scribes Of Metal, every so often we like rock news stories that are slightly outside the box, and this one certainly qualifies; In something of a first for the rock & metal world, British rockers You Me At Six have teamed up with theme park Thorpe Park to do something no rock band has yet done thus far. The band have provided a song that will be used exclusively as the soundtrack and musical accompanyment for the park's brand new ride/attraction The Swarm. The ride is open as part of Thorpe Park's 2012 season and the song (also entitled The Swarm) has been featured on the 2012 Thorpe Park TV commercials.
You Me At Six & The Soundtrack To Your UK Theme Park Experience
This marks the start of what could be You Me At Six's biggest year to date, as they are scheduled to headline the second stage at this year's Download Festival on the Saturday night (anyone who agrees to headline a stage at a festival at the same time as Metallica is brave in our opinion). They're also scheduled to be fairly high up the bill at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals over the August Bank Holiday.
